measure the height of the deck above the ground. Take this measurement to your local building supply dealer. If they don't have a set in stock, they will order it for you. The run, or distance out from the face of the deck will be determined by the rise, or height. It's a simple formula they use. Take in a picture of where you want to put the steps, to show them any restrictions.
You should be aware that the steps they supply are made of pressure treated lumber, usually, and are not that decorative. If you want to stain or paint them, you will have to wait at least one year!
