How to keep my dog out of my garden?

my garden used to be a jungle for my dog untill recently, we dug up the dead rose bushes and morning glories, and planted seeds and bulbs. he likes to jump over the fence and walk in it. what can i do to make him stop? is there anything i could put in the garden to keep him out?

How to keep my dog out of my garden?
get natures miracle. It's at petco. the problem is from the sounds of it, you used to let him in there. it is going to be real difficult.
Reply:you might also consider a wireless fence system, something that uses radio waves to train the dog to keep in and out of certain areas.

He's used to being in that area and doesn't understand why it is now off limits. You'll have to retrain him - good luck!
Reply:Actually what you could do is create a space for him where it is ok for him to dig.

You can build a box or just use a piece of your existing yard where you can place a mixture of 50% sand and 50% soil.

Then, the next time you catch him digging, you give him a stearn "no," and take him over to this new area.

Also, dig a shallow hole in the new area and bury his favorite treat. As soon as he starts digging in the new area, give him praise, treats, and use the positive reinforcement method to show him that it's ok to dig that area up!

The other option, is that dogs absolutely will not dog where there is dog poop.

Or, if none of the previous methods solve the problem, here is a somewhat time consuming, yet 99.9% effective way of stomping your dog from digging up your plants. Roll up the first two inches of turf in your yard, and lay down chicken-wire underneath it. Your dog won't have any idea it's there until he's dug at it a bit, but once he's convinced that it's pointless (which happens quickly), he'll never dig in your yard again!
