Bush's rose garden speech?

should President Bush ask the liberal congress to STOP punishing Americans and drill here for oil?

the money saved at the pumps could give the economy a big boost.

Bush's rose garden speech?
Bush is the one that is punishing everyone here, he has punished Americans and non Americans. I'm sure the roses in the garden will shrivel from his speech too.

I assume that the republicans will accuse us of being uneducated loonies only because we don't agree with them.
Reply:There's not enough oil in the U.S. to solve the problem. Why can't you people get that through your head? Oil isn't everywhere.

Not to mention a few other things you're overlooking. Republicans claim that they knew this was going to happen, that there'd be a supply/demand issue and that liberals are stupid because they didn't see it coming. Okay, great. Why didn't Bush and his REPUBLICAN CONTROLLED CONGRESS do anything about it for the first six years of his Presidency? The liberals couldn't possibly have stopped them.

The answer is that your beloved President Bush doesn't care about you, or if you feel "punished." He only cares about himself and the profits he's getting from his oil stock.
Reply:Offshore oil drilling will not effect current gas prices!
Reply:yes..he should demand it and he should demand more refineries too!
Reply:We can't drill our way out of this mess. Do some research - learn your subject.

Were you ever promised a rose garden?

Actually, yes. My Mom promised that she and I would grow a rose garden together...but you know, things change, right? So we never got a chance to do it. Oh well. Life goes on.

Were you ever promised a rose garden?
Absolutely never.....
Reply:I beg your pardon......?
Reply:Yes! It's taken over 30 years, but the promise has finally been kept!!!
Reply:Never was,
Reply:noooo
Reply:no
Reply:no, but i planted my own roses, red and pink ones. i really like the white ones too, i need to plant some of those next.
Reply:No,I wish I was though roses are so lovely.
Reply:I was promised a cactus .I turned it down .I didn't need another prick in the house.
Reply:no...
Reply:No. Take what you have and make the best of it you can.
Reply:Nope, I grow my own :-)
Reply:No, I was never promised a rose garden.
Reply:Yes, thorns and all........
Reply:Every tear drop that has fell in a moment of sad silent reflection of the heart beat with in the strength of a truth of the person and the questions asked, it is a search for life and a touch of grace on each page that defines the deepth of the soil of the rose and the thorns do prick those unwarry enough to smell of the fragrant flowers so grown in every rose garden, the choice to break a promise is to chose the life or death of the garden in which they grow, this is the deepth of a question when asked to open eyes.
Reply:Nope, cant say that I have been promised that
Reply:Along with the sunshine? No, I was never promised that. There's gotta be a little rain sometime.
Reply:There's got to be a little rain sometimes.
Reply:No one ever promised me a rose garden.
Reply:nope
Reply:I beg your pardon..!
Reply:No...and most promises are lies anyway.
Reply:No but I was promised to be the one who maintains it.
Reply:Promised. Delivered. Dead.

The Garden (Guns N Roses), The Garden (Pearl Jam) or I Never Promised You A Rose Garden (Lynn Anderson 1971)?

Bush confessed this morning in the Rose Garden to being responsible for bring AlQaida to Iraq. WWBD now ???

I think Bush is the first president to confess to war crimes.

Bush confessed this morning in the Rose Garden to being responsible for bring AlQaida to Iraq. WWBD now ???
I'm sorry, people going to Iraq on thier own free will to kill people from Iraq and the US is a Bush war crime how?
Reply:You are confusing your Presidents. It wasn't George Bush.It was Bill Clinton , who because of his refusal to do anything about the attack on the USS Cole, and the destruction of our embassies in Dar es Salaam,Tanzania and Nairobi gave them carte blanche to go anywhere they pleased(including N.Y.)And the confessional was not the Rose Garden but Rosie Odonell's show where he was assured of a sympathetic audience
Reply:Are you one of those people who knows things that aren't so and who remembers things that never happened?
Reply:the first to confess but no the only one guilty.

This whole thing reminds me of the child's story "The Emperors New Clothes" read the story and you will know what I mean.
Reply:Clueless again
Reply:It is no secret the top general in charge of Iraq operations publicly stated that when we did not leave Iraq right after overthrowing Saddam's government, the Iraqi general under Saddam called the Al Queda in to help them in a resistance movement against us.

That is one reason there is a civil war in Iraq now. Al Queda are Saudis and Afghans mostly that are similar to the Sunni sect of Iraq. Most of Iraq is Shite which is Iran as well, mortal enemies of the Afghan Taliban and Al Queda. So even when the US is out of there, the civil war will still go on for a long time.
Reply:Just one more liberal dimwit running his mouth ?? It's amazing your smart enough to take your next breath..........
Reply:NO HE DIDN'T. I WATCHED IT. HE DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING EVEN CLOSE TO THAT REMARK.

John Kerry did admit to war crimes however. Just go to youtube and watch him on video-admitting it like the coward that he is.
Reply:I think you are a liar. He hasn't lied but you sure have.
Reply:Nice avatar....fitting.
Reply:I did NOT do such a thing. This is more of your liberal propaganda. Enough already!
Reply:He better talk to someone he knows, and I ain't it anymore.
Reply:Prove that. You will lie about anything, won't you?

Hey, guess what? Tony Blair announced this morning that he'd had a meeting with the head of an alien delegation from Alpha Centauri. It must be true. I just said it.

Appropriate avatar and nickname.
Reply:Shortbus is not a 'lib'. Don't insult American libs.
Reply:But wait. You libs keep saying that AlQaida isn't in Iraq. What gives?
Reply:You don't lie very good Akhmed.
Reply:Wonder when will they admit to creating Islamism, AQ, funding them and to flying them into Bosnia in the 1990s to fight Christian Serbs.
Reply:wow way to pay attention to what he said

Did Bush say in the Rose Garden press conference that he invaded Iraq because he thought .....?

That the Arab Nations were going to monopolize the flow of oil to the US? Is this admitting to barbaric invation? Could he have tried to find a less chaotic solution to the energy crissis?

Did Bush say in the Rose Garden press conference that he invaded Iraq because he thought .....?
It does not matter what he says. He only lies.
Reply:if he did say that then good on him. He was looking out for his countries interests which is his job.
Reply:Is doesn't matter he just showed him self to be ignorant as always.
Reply:What ever he says you can not depend on. I don't know how he got the be president, he was arrested in Maine for drunk driving, Texas has lost his driving record. He went AWOL from the National Guard. He also lost the election in his brothers home state by 800,000 votes. The businesses he has started or had anything to do with went bankrupt.

If a man iron clothes for his girlfriend and make her rose garden, is he less of a man?

No , he sounds like a real man to me.

If a man iron clothes for his girlfriend and make her rose garden, is he less of a man?
absolutley not i think that it means you are more of a man if you are willing to do things like that to see your girlfriend smile. i think the world needs more men like that
Reply:No. ........give and take is best
Reply:of course not he is more of a man,, one that really cares about his womans needs and help her around with what ever she needs... a man like that is very rare but believe me when a girl finds him the others be like really jelous of her.
Reply:If ironing her clothes and making a rose garden makes you less of a man, I'm screwed. I also do flower arangements, hair, make-up, nails, cook, help her shop for clothes and accessories, hem up her pants, and write her poetry. Several times my wife has been asked, in a department store, if I was her gay shopping buddy. My wife claims that I am the gayest strait guy she knows. If someone laughs at the guy in question, ya'll have my permission to use me as a scapegoat... :)

Can red ants kill a rose bush?

i have red ants in my rose garden the last 2 years every spring my plants are dead

Can red ants kill a rose bush?
Hi, there. What you could do is to go to your garden center and ask them for a lady bird house. It is a wooden box with short lengths of bamboo in side it.

The lady birds love this sort of enviroment and will quickly move in to it. The lady birds love to eat red/ black ants and any green fly too that you may have.

Another option may be to hang bird feeders near to the roses, the seed will atract the birds, but only keep it a 3rd full. The smaller birds will keep visiting the feeder, and when it is empty they will look around for fallen seed. They will soon find the red ants and start picking them off.

Hope this helps you. Let me know how you get on.
Reply:YES
Reply:Ant "farm" aphids so they can eat the sticky stuff they exude. The ants themselves won't kill your rose bush, but the aphids can by sucking out all it's sap.
Reply:yes they can

Reply:Of course you even said it yourself. Ants are little pests.

"(I Never Promised You A) Rose Garden"

I beg your pardon I never promised you a rose garden

Along with the sunshine there's gotta be a little rain sometime

When you take you gotta give so live and let live and let go oh oh oh oh

I beg your pardon I never promised you a rose garden

I could promise you things like big diamond rings

But you don't find roses growin' on stalks of clover

So you better think it over

Well, if sweet talking you could make it come true

I would give you the world right now on a silver platter

But what would it matter

So smile for a while and let's be jolly love shouldn't be so melancholy

Come along and share the good times while we can

I beg your pardon I never promised you a rose garden

Along with the sunshine there's gotta be a little rain sometime

I beg your pardon I never promised you a rose garden

I could sing you a tune and promise you the moon

But if that's what it takes to hold you I'd just as soon let you go

But there's one thing I want you to know

You'd better look before you leap still waters run deep

And there won't always be someone there to pull you out

And you know what I'm talking about

So smile for a while and let's be jolly love shouldn't be so melancholy

Come along and share the good times while we can

I beg your pardon I never promised you a rose garden

Along with the sunshine there's gotta be a little rain sometime.....

I beg your pardon I never promised you a rose garden

Reply:Loretta Lynn 1971...but was the title of a song written by Joe South, most famously associated with Lynn Anderson, whose recording topped the U.S. country charts and reached #3 on the U.S. pop charts in 1970. In 1971, it hit #3 in the United Kingdom and was one of the most successful country crossover hits ever in Europe, hitting number one in several countries.

In the song, initially recorded by South himself, the narrator explains to his/her lover that though their relationship is not perfect, they should be grateful for the good and accept the bad along with it. Reportedly, Anderson's record label, Columbia, was not keen on her recording "Rose Garden", as they felt it would seem odd for a woman to be singing lines like "I could promise you things like big diamond rings", but Columbia's reservations aside, the single release of the song was an immediate hit, setting the stage for a series of top ten country singles for Anderson, which would continue throughout most of the 1970s. The song earned Anderson a Grammy Award for Best Female Country Vocal Performance...It has been redone by many over the years including one rare recording by Stevie Nicks of Fleedwood Mac

IThe latest recording of this classic was done by Martina McBride in 2005....

Have you ever been promised a rose garden?

But end up with bushes of stinky flowers?

Have you ever been promised a rose garden?
Yes, very, very disappointing. I now don't put much into other peoples promises. I don't make promises that I can't keep but others seem to without any problems. I don't let let it bother me anymore........well, I TRY not to let it bother me. I learned that if you don't get that rose garden you were promised by someone you just have to plant it yourself. Nurture it and give it love and watch it grow, it will be better than the one promised and someone WILL stop to admire it and you will connect.

The perim. of a rect. rose garden is 140m &area is 1200m^2. Find the length and the width.?

♦ p= x+y+x+y =2x+2y, hence y=(p-2x)/2;

A=x*y =x*(p/2-x); now numbers →

♣ 1200 = x*(140/2-x); → x^2 –70x +1200 =0,

hence x,y =35 ±√(35^2 –1200) =30, 40;

The perim. of a rect. rose garden is 140m %26amp;area is 1200m^2. Find the length and the width.?
Hello

So the dimensions of the rectangle is x, x, y, y.

So we have 2x+2y = 140 and xy=1200.

Lets substitute x = 1200/y into the first equation to get:

2(1200/y) + 2y = 140.

2400/y + 2y = 140.

Mult both sides by y to get 2400 + 2y^2 = 140 y

Rearrange to get: 2y^2 - 140y + 2400 = 2(y^2-70y+1200).

This is 2(y-30)(y-40).

So the solution is 30 and 40.

Hope this helps
Reply:2l+2w=140

l x w =1200

2w=140-2l, w=70-l

substitute this into l x w =1200, to get

l(70-l)=1200

70l -l^2=1200

-l^2+70l-1200=0

l^2-70l+1200=0

(l -30)(l-40)=0

l=30 or l=40

if l=30,w=40 and if l=40 w=30

Since length is usually the longer dimension,

the answer is l=40, w=30
Reply:Let the length and width of the garden be x and y meters respectively

Therefore,

2(x+y)=140 or x+y=70 and

xy=1200

We know that

(x-y)^2=(x+y)^2-4xy

=(70)^2=4*1200

=4900-4800=100

or,x-y=10 [square-rooting both sides]

Now, we have two linear equations,

x+y=70,and

x-y=10

solving these,we get

x=40 and y=30

Therefore, the length of the garden is 40 m and the width is 30 m
Reply:LxB=1200 sq m--------------(1)

%26amp;2(L+B)=140 m

or L+B=140/2=70 m--------(2)

or L=70-B----------------------(3)

From (1) %26amp;(3),we have

(70-B)xB=1200

or B^2-70B+1200=0

or B^2-30B-40B+1200=0

or B(B-30)-40(B-30)=0

or( B-30)(B-40)=0

B=30 or B=40

Since Breadth is always smaller,so let us say

B=30-----------------(4)

from (1) %26amp; (4),we have

L x B= 1200

so L =1200/B=1200/30=40

so L=40 m %26amp; B=30 m ans
Reply:Let L = length

Let W = width

The perimeter of the garden will be

P = 2L + 2W

The area will be

A = L*W

We have 2 unknowns (length and width) and 2 equations

2L + 2W = 140

L * W = 1200

Divide the bottom equation by L to get

(L*W)/L = 1200/L

W = 1200/L

Plug this into the other equation

2L + 2W = 140 divide both sides of the equation by 2 to get

L + W = 70

L + 1200/L = 70

Multiply both sides by L

L^2 + 1200 = 70L

L^2 - 70L + 1200 = 0

(L - 30)(L - 40) = 0

L=30 L = 40

2L + 2W = 140

2(40) + 2W = 140

80 + 2W = 140

2W = 60

W = 30

So the width is 30m and the length is 40m

Why was Bush so crabby at this mornings Rose Garden briefing?

The American people DESERVE to get answers...

We're PAYING him to represent us and we

deserve to get answers and the TRUTH!

Why is Bush so crabby lately?

Job of being Presidunce too HAAAARD for him?

Why was Bush so crabby at this mornings Rose Garden briefing?
because he's trying to pretend he's in charge. Like he's really tough on terror. He's hoping to win favor for his invasion and now seemingly endless fighting in Iraq. Great "War on Terror" there Georgy Boy. To him, it's all based in Iraq. Wasting billions of dollars every month. Can we get a President who knows how to take charge and also has the ability to do so? The one we've got is just a spokesperson. He's the pretend president. Cheney and Rumsfeld are calling the shots.

But nobody is buying his bill of goods anymore. People are waking up and catching on to the bad job he and his administration are doing.

That, plus Condi didn't put out for him last night.
Reply:I would be crabby too if I have people whining and complaining about what I do 24/7.
Reply:Because he's not getting every thing he wants, things are not going his way and even the Republicans are beinginning to see that he not only as no clothes, he's losing touch with reality.

He is losing his marbles, no egomanic can stand to be stymied or disagreed with.

Hey, this is our President speaking:Consider these quotes from GWB and tell me if they are from a normal person:

"I believe God wants me to be president."

[I was] "chosen by the grace of God to lead at that moment.

"God told me to strike at al-Qaeda and I struck them, and then he instructed me to strike at Saddam, which I did, and now I am determined to solve the problem in the Middle East."

"We will export death and violence to the four corners of the earth in defense of this great country and rid the world of evil."

"International law? I better call my lawyer; he didn't bring that up to me."

Are these declarations really the sign of a balanced person?

Judging from his utterances, George W. Bush seems to suffer from some form of megalomania in which the victim believes himself to be endowed with god-like powers.
Reply:He's pissed off because the man who should have been President Mr. Colin Powell gave his warped plan the thumbs down. The advice of an experienced military expert -and George' s response (as a novice) was "flawed logic"!
Reply:For the first time in History he did not read a speech written by Carl Rove. His meds are also kicking in. I think he has a serious medical problem and should see a Doctor for a Physical. Congress should require him to visit a independent Doctor.

Reply:Seems rather illogical to see some of the posts in here.. One only needs to recall Clinton's hair when he entered office.. very auburn and well groomed.. what color was his hair when he left? Sure wasn't the same.!! In other words, things can change a lot when acting president..What would be the value of seeing Bush 10 years ago???When we had seen the results of 2 terms in office by the preceeding president.

If you want to get on the truth kick, let's go back just 6 or 7 years ago.. of course the dismantling of all the lib programs would account for some of it, but he had to sign bills he didn't like at all. Incuding the welfare reform bill. Recall how many times he vetoed it?

Bush has been up front from the onset.. he has told us from the beginning of the war, it would last a long time. He has repeated that several times.. it is going to take a long time!! The terrorists are going to have to be chased until they are caught.. they have no standing army, just civilians dedicated to jihad. And you are on their victims list.

What is a "Rose garden Startegy"?
I lifted this answer from Wikipedia.

"The phrase "Rose Garden strategy" (such as a re-election strategy) refers to staying inside or on the grounds of the White House as opposed to traveling throughout the country. For example, Jimmy Carter's initial efforts to end the Iran hostage crisis (1979-1981) were a Rose Garden strategy because he mostly held discussions with his close advisers in the White House. On July 25, 1994 a declaration of peace between Israel and Jordan was signed in the Rose Garden."

ROSE GARDEN

(Lyrics %26amp; Music : Joe South)

Lynn Anderson - 1971

I beg your pardon

I never promised you a rose garden

Along with the sunshine

There's got to be a little rain some time

When you take you got to give so live and let live

Or let go oh-whoa-whoa-whoa

I beg your pardon

I never promised you a rose garden

I could promise you things like big diamond rings

But you don't find roses growing on stalks of clover

So you better think it over

Well if sweet-talking you could make it come true

I would give you the world right now on a silver platter

But what would it matter

So smile for a while and let's be jolly

Love shouldn't be so melancholy

Come along and share the good times while we can

I beg your pardon

I never promised you a rose garden

Along with the sunshine

There's got to be a little rain some time

I beg your pardon

I never promised you a rose garden

I could sing you a tune and promise you the moon

But if that's what it takes to hold you

I'd just as soon let you go

But there's one thing I want you to know

You better look before you leap, still waters run deep

And there won't always be someone there to pull you out

And you know what I'm talking about

So smile for a while and let's be jolly

Love shouldn't be so melancholy

Come along and share the good times while we can

I beg your pardon

I never promised you a rose garden

Along with the sunshine

There's got to be a little rain some time

Can the rose New Dawn be grown in Missouri? Does it require full sun?

I am interested in the history of this rose. I know it grows well in Tennessee and southwards, but I have not seen it in the Midwest. It should bloom all summer and has a wonderful fragrance. Is it featured in any rose gardens in the Missouri/Iowa/Wisconsin areas? Does anyone have experience growing it there? Photographs? Places where it can be purchased?

Can the rose New Dawn be grown in Missouri? Does it require full sun?
I live in Northern Mo zone 5a and I have had this rose 3 years. It is up by my garage and it grows so good I have to prune it back to keep it looking to wild. This rose has no die back in winter and it is the easiest rose to grow. It needs full sun. Where ever you put it make sure you have lots of room for it . It will really get big and tall. You will love this rose for it blooms all summer. The first bloom is the best in the spring. My rose is an own root rose that I bought over the internet. I would only suggest own root roses in Mo. Try ebay I have bought lots of nice roses there or try this link.

http://www.helpmefind.com/rose/l.php?cou...
Reply:the rose new dawn could surely be grown in Missouri and probably do OK ...you see roses for the most part will grow in hardiness zone 6 and some even in zone 4 or 5 and still overwinter all right, however anytime you have winter cold reach levels below zero there are chances that the root stock could survive but the grafted variety you chose may be killed by the weather--in other words most roses today are grafted onto old reliable roses root stock so if say you bought a hybrid rose that was supposed to be a bright pink rose with a name and it did die off during the winter, you could conceivably have the root stock rose still come out the next year but it could be a simple multi flora rose in white or who knows what rootstock they chose to graft it on---roses are a very serious thing to grow if your really into them--but if your not into maintenance and care i would suggest just picking out one of the many landscape roses which need little attention and are easy to grow, examples are meidiland roses or knock out roses which are quite easily found in most garden centers, -----------blanco

Rose pink and teal? Are these ok for my garden wedding?
Beautiful - the colours I wanted! We had a teal - but it looked more green. We had the pink in the flowers. Here are my photos if you want to see the colours together... I know it the girls dresses look green but put against an actual green they had a surprising amount of blue!!! Anyway...

Reply:For a garden wedding, I would go with a pink, but not with the teal. I would go with a much lighter green (mint green?) and pink. I think that goes better than pink and teal.

Just my opinion......

How do I take a cutting from a rose bush in order to root it for my own garden?

I successfully took a cutting from my Pauls Scarlet climber using the information I found on the website listed below. I took 3 and 2 took so i was quite happy with it.

http://www.rooting-hormones.com/rose.htm

How do I take a cutting from a rose bush in order to root it for my own garden?
You need another rose bush. Take a sharp sterile knife and remove a bud or two, place these in a sealed bag. Remove the same area by cutting through the skin surrounding you new bud, into the skin of your own rose bush, this means that you will be removing the exact area that you replace. Secure the bud by tying it and stopping any air or sunlight reaching the cut through area, you should see just the new bud. That's it. Try to do three or four to allow for failures. Good luck.
Reply:There are two ways you can do it. First, you can cut a stem at an angle, coat it with rooting hormone and put it in a pot till it starts to root. That will work, but i like the second method better.

Cut a stem at about a 30 degree angle, but dont cut it all the way off (only about 1/2 the way through). Coat the inside of the cut with rooting hormone then tuck some pete moss up into the cut. Next take a black plastic trash bag and wrap it loosely around the part of the stem and tie it tight below the cut so it forms a pocket and fill the pocket full of potting soil and pete moss. Then add water and tie the top tight above the cut. This allows the rose plant to still provide the stem with nourishment, while at the same time allowing the roots to grow. After the roots have grown well, then cut the top part off and plant it.
Reply:take a 18in cutting off your bush the top just above a leaf joint the bottom just below make a slit in the ground with your spade put in some grit put the cutting in do more than one you should get 50% success

If you wear rose colored glasses is it still necessary to weed the garden?

Yes, in order to pick the camouflage .

If you wear rose colored glasses is it still necessary to weed the garden?
Hey! I know you're not asking a question but your pun is great! And I get your point: It's still necessary to weed the garden so why care wearing rose colored glasses deceiving yourself?
Reply:Yes because rose colored glasses and greenish colored weeds = brown colored garden...Ewwww...
Reply:This is good! I love it!

The weeds exist with and without the glasses, so yes, you weed!
Reply:yes because at the end of the day, the weeds kill the pretty flowers. weeds cause death, so DEATH TO THE WEEDS!
Reply:Yes, it is still necessary, even rose-colored glasses can become smudged and dirty.
Reply:yes...because if you stay ahead of the weeds

they propagate less...less work...

believe me I've tried
Reply:did you try that already? if u did.. what's the result? that would be the answer....
Reply:Well, no. All of the answers so far have been yes, but if you are wearing rose-coloured glasses it means that everything you see is tinted rose, it does not matter what colour the object is prior to tinting, it's still tinted rose if you are looking through the glasses. In other words, someone who looks through rose-coloured glasses only sees the good in life and is oblivious to or ignoors the bad. If they are ignooring the bad and only seeing the roses, then the bad could be interpretted as the weeds, and the whole point of the expression "Rose-coloured glasses" is that the people wearing them don't see the weeds because everything looks rose, so why would need to weed you garden? You're already deceiving yourself into believing that the weeds are roses.

Really great question by the way. wonderful pun, and it could be interpretted so many ways.

Can I give roses from my garden to anyone?

I have a fairly large rose garden and have to cut flowers before they make seeds so that they keep blooming. They are dozens of beautiful pink and red fragrant rose stems in full bloom, and I hate to throw them away. Can I just give to just friends or co-workers for no reason? Do you think they make some second guess? Or will they be annoyed?

Can I give roses from my garden to anyone?
put a sign in your yard saying roses12.99 a dozen, and sell them
Reply:red roses are for love

yellow roses are for friends

white roses are for weddings %26amp; funerals

pink is common among weddings

and any other color is fine to give in any respect you wish.

Just proper color coded ettiquette
Reply:Stick to giving them to female relatives.
Reply:Just be sure to mention that it's a friendship thing and give them to EVERYONE so no one feels left out or offended.
Reply:I would say give them to someone that likes them. It would be kinda weird to just give one to someone if they don't care for flowers.
Reply:as long as u explain ur intentions it's ok
Reply:new root will grow can you without ensure make
Reply:No, you may not give them to just anyone...

You must give them to me!
Reply:hey, u got a perfectly good reason, and your going out of your way to be nice don't worry about what they think Not everything needs to be over analyzed..whatever happened to simple acts of kindness w/o motive or strings???
Reply:well personlly i thhink of it as a way to show happiness and love t oeveryone in the world so yes you can
Reply:I have an English garden. I have the most beautiful roses any where.I always give my roses on special occasion. I arrange them in a beautiful vase, and they are more special then any of those frozen ones you get at the florist.
Reply:By all means, take them to your co-workers! I don't know of ANYBODY who doesn't appreciate getting flowers!
Reply:If you are not giving them for sentimental reasons, you can just put them in a common area at your job with a little note telling everyone that they are free %26amp; you cut them from your very own garden. ~That is so nice of you.~
Reply:i think that is a nice gesture. i can't imagine anyone would be annoyed by this.

maybe put a nice vase full in your breakroom.

or take a vase full to your local retirement home they will love them.

call hospice and offer them to a family.

i think it is nice of you to share the beauty.
Reply:heck no!!

evry1 ♥s roses!!

lol
Reply:Are you kidding? Anyone (who likes flowers) would be thrilled to receive them. I don't have roses, but I have lilacs and peonies and I always take some to work and give them to my co-workers and they love them. I also give them to some of our senior customers and they really appreciate the thought. I work in a pharmacy so we have quite a few seniors and it just makes their day.

Give them to whomever you feel would enjoy them and enjoy making someone's day.
Reply:I think it's fine. I would say something to the effect that they came from my garden and I just wanted someone else to be able to enjoy them too.
Reply:Sure, I would love to get roses for no reason at all! That would be great.
Reply:You know what would be nice is making little arrangements and taking them to your local seniors home and hospital. You could really brighten someones day.
Reply:yea, give them away. just not to anyone you think might get the wrong impression.
Reply:I think it would be a nice gesture to hand out flowers, to everyone, don't single out one person, unless you want that person to have special attention from you... did that make sense? oh well.i think it would be nice to give away flowers though. i mean, they are your flowers, you can do with them as you wish.
Reply:You can pass along a bouquet with a smile and say, "I grew these, and I hope you and the other people who see and smell them like them as much as I do."

If you hand out several, so they spring up all over the office, everyone will praise your roses, and you won't be socially awkward.
Reply:i think u can give it. i wish i had friend that would have given me some flowers from time to time. i like it very much.
Reply:Just as long as they know its not in a romantic way, unless it is. You don't want to mislead them.
Reply:Not just anyone. Some people are allergic, others have phobias.
Reply:I would love your roses. Or you could try to sell them...make a little money :)
Reply:yeah just tell them why

if you say here is a rose, and not tell them why, that would be creepy
Reply:You should give them to kids at your local childrens hospital.
Reply:I'd do it -- but give them to friends. They'll appreciate the color and fragrance it brings into their homes. Maybe ask them if they'd like roses first, however.
Reply:I think that giving your beautiful roses to people is a wonderful idea. I don't that someone might think of something else, but you could ask if anyone would like some roses to decorate their house, or desk with to make sure that they are not allergic to the smell. You could also cut them and take them to your church to decorate the altar with. You could put some in the back of church for people to take home with them. It is a very lovely idea and I wish my roses were so plentiful, but they are only a few months old. Good luck.
Reply:sounds like a nice thing to do to me. Just tell them you had to many and didn't want to throw them away.

Why do muslims say that Islam is like a rose garden?

All roses have thorns and also weeds grow in the gaps between, so nothing is what they seem.

Why do muslims say that Islam is like a rose garden?
dear. rose is symbol of holley marya and its for cristians not muslims . but if u make it for islam thank u very much but islam is like a garden but not just for roses islam is a garden for all the good smell flowers and beautifull trees%26amp; .... its called paradise that u can find all the other sky religiones in it because we have no enother paradise and god and all of us are brothers and systers and must love each other if the dirty hands of politicans let us .but dear reall islam i just in the heart of few peoples that they think just to love and peace

in one milyon muslim maybe you find 10 real muslim and they will not tell u we are muslim islam now is in the hands of ivel some butchers that they didnt smeell the good test of real and clean love in their dirty life are called muslim leaders but be sure real muslim dont like killing one little insect !!! wish u sky love...
Reply:thats a new one, I've never heard that before and never said it myself either.

the things we get to learn everyday eh!
Reply:we never say that....
Reply:because they are liars.
Reply:The roses are the women they enslave and the thorns are their terrorists. The weeds are the brainwashed multitudes.
Reply:because it is full of thorns and manure
Reply:i a muslim and i have never heared that in my whole life
Reply:No matter the thorns and weeds. The smell is so wonderful and they look so pretty. Would you rather have a rose or a daffodil?

Me..give me the thorny rose.
Reply:Everything I ever hear these days about Islam is connected to terror and death,,wow!! that's some religeon
Reply:I have never actually heard a Muslim say that .. or seen one write it... and I know quite a few Muslims.
Reply:They don`t say its a rose, and thus thorns are out of question.

Perhaps islam makes sense to you, that is why even though they don`t say its a rose, it seems to yuo like a rose.

My religion makes alot of sense to me, and I think it can solve the problems of the present day.

But the best thing about it is that it helps me realise about my true Creator, it makes me know about God in the purest of ways possible.

It is so in-keeping with my human nature, and the nature of other humans around me.

If it seems like a rose for you, pls read more about it, there might be thorns, but as you grow and have more experiences of life, you will understand those thorns, they are either for the general good of humans at large or a wisdom that is so subtle.
Reply:Ive never heard muslims say that but it could be that muslims believe whatever they put forward in the present life in terms of good deeds and efforts to please and worship God, they will see the fruits of in the hereafter. So its like when you plant your garden and eventually you will see them grow into beautiful roses for all your efforts.
Reply:I've never heard of that one before...

Looking for the best RED Rose for my garden?

MASTER GARDENER TO THE RESCUE.

When it comes to red MR LINCOLN is the top of the list. Dark rich red and the smell is Rose Heaven. Has a great history of little or no problems. Last time I checked the AMERICAN ROSE SOCIETY had given it a 9.0 on a scale of 1 thru 10. I personally would never touch any Rose under an 8.0 rating. My Mr Lincoln is about 15 years old. It was out of some of the first on the market. By age 15 most Roses should have pooped out years ago, my mine is every bit as nice as year # one.

Mr Lincoln is # one when it comes to red Tea Roses.

Looking for the best RED Rose for my garden?
Lincoln is beautiful, it depends on if you want a strong rose smell or what shade of red you want. try Jackson and Perkins site or heirloom roses site both are helpful.
Reply:Hi. I only have two red roses in my garden, but one stands out as my favorite of all the different roses I have planted. It's a hybrid tea named Miranda. It has been very hard and bushy even when the rest of my roses have looked very spindley this year. It's best feature is the smell of it's roses. The wonderful aroma these roses produce and can be smelled from across the yard.

My other red rose is a climbing rose named 'Don Quan.' It produces a beautiful rose which is actually prettier than Miranda's and lasts longer, but no fragrance and the plant has been a little more tempermental than the 'Miranda.'
Reply:Abe Lincoln variety

I want a rambling rose to grow up a large standard tree in my garden, any hints please?

This is one of the loveliest ways of growing them, but you must choose one with really long shoots. Others have gone into names, but there are literally dozens and dozens of them, the choice is yours. I will advise you HOW to grow your rose.

Firstly plant the rose of your choice about 4' away from the trunk: the farther away the better, since there will be competition for food from the tree roots and the soil will be less dry. The sides or rear is preferable as it won't be in the way. train the rose canes towards the tree along poles or strong canes. Once it reaches the lower branches the rose will hook its thorns into and over them and ramble upwards with very little further help. that's it. All you have to do now is choose your rose. I said before there are dozens, thinking about it it there are probably hundreds. Good luck with your choice. personally I prefer 'Albertine' it'll never let you down.

I want a rambling rose to grow up a large standard tree in my garden, any hints please?
'Dorothy Perkins' rambling rose is nice--I have one.But remember any rose needs plentiful sun...will it get enough under the tree?

I like climbing roses too,for trellises--'Blaze' is an excellent climber.
Reply:The most vigorous of the climbers/ramblers is Kiftsgate which can grow to up to 50ft high. It has white scented flowers and can take over smaller gardens

Paul's Himalayan musk is a great one for training up trees.

Have a look at some of the websites for classic roses.
Reply:The average growth for the

Kiftsgate is 20 + feet and it does tolerate shade.

The one below was the exception rather than the rule.

The Kiftsgate Rose

http://www.kiftsgate.co.uk/kiftsgaterose...
Reply:Tell it to stop rambling, start growin'

You could create some kind of trellis/grid for it to latch onto and grow up. Or use some netting so the thorns get stuck and it continues growing up the tree. Or do circles of string around it and the tree up to about 1 ft?
Reply:Try the delightfully named 'Rambling Rector' it grows while you watch and has lovely small white flowers and dark foliage.
Reply:Albertine- large pink flowers, very thorny and will grow to about 15 feet.

Paul's Scarlet-lots of small red flowers will grow to about 18 feet but will need training and more attention than Albertine.
Reply:The previous suggestion of Rose Dorothy Perkins has a drawback, in that it is a martyr to powdery mildew. Other roses will also get blackspot so get one that is more disease resistant.

I have a rose Wedding Day that is similar, but more compact at 30 feet, to the Kiftsgate rose at 35feet. It has apricot buds that quickly turn white. Rambling Rector has semi-double, small, scented, white flowers-20 feet. You could also try Rosa banksiae-lutea, it has bunches of primrose yellow fully double small flowers in early May. Other varieties to consider- Alberic Barbier, Alexandre Girault,Albertine, Bobbie James, Francois Juranville,Paul's Himalayan Musk, Long John Silver, Felicite-Perpetue, and the very vigourous, Rosa Mulliganii,
Reply:trim to 3 or 4 of your best braches and train them up your tree

Will having a climbing rose next to my vegetable garden hurt the food?

I think it would be a very good thing to do they add beuty anywhere you plant them i think.

And i read some where that thyey grow roses at the ends of grape arbors so they could tell if powdery mildew was around and they could stop it on the grapes hope this helps.

Will having a climbing rose next to my vegetable garden hurt the food?
No, they will be fine. Only concern is pesticide use....none on the roses or veggies, please.
Reply:arctosta......

You are right on it as well as looking good, attracting bees etc they are a great indicator plant to show start of pest infestation

The Vineyards here in NZ also use them for this purpose

The Rose is a pretty usefull plant
Reply:Check what you are growing with compatibility to roses. There are plants that will provide protection for the roses and be protected by the roses, but there are those that can be drained by the roses and be infected or infested by the problems roses attract.

Roses can tend to compete for nutrients, and win.

Blessed gardening!!
Reply:I have climbers all around my garden. They have been there for twenty years. It won't hurt a thing.Flowers also attract more bee's and that is a good thing for any garden.
Reply:Your rose could be a good identifier of pest insects and diseases that may attack your garden. Ever notice how vineyards have rose bushes at the end of rows? This isn't to look pretty but to ID pests or diseases before they decimate the grape vines. Roses are highly susceptible to some of the pests and diseases that attack other plants and can be an early warning indicator of problems in your garden. (And the bees love 'em too)
Reply:No. However, shading from the rose and/or competition for water may cut the yield of your garden somewhat. But the rose will not "poison" or "injure" your garden crops.
