That is one reason there is a civil war in Iraq now. Al Queda are Saudis and Afghans mostly that are similar to the Sunni sect of Iraq. Most of Iraq is Shite which is Iran as well, mortal enemies of the Afghan Taliban and Al Queda. So even when the US is out of there, the civil war will still go on for a long time.
