Can red ants kill a rose bush?
Hi, there. What you could do is to go to your garden center and ask them for a lady bird house. It is a wooden box with short lengths of bamboo in side it.

The lady birds love this sort of enviroment and will quickly move in to it. The lady birds love to eat red/ black ants and any green fly too that you may have.

Another option may be to hang bird feeders near to the roses, the seed will atract the birds, but only keep it a 3rd full. The smaller birds will keep visiting the feeder, and when it is empty they will look around for fallen seed. They will soon find the red ants and start picking them off.

Hope this helps you. Let me know how you get on.
Reply:YES
Reply:Ant "farm" aphids so they can eat the sticky stuff they exude. The ants themselves won't kill your rose bush, but the aphids can by sucking out all it's sap.

Reply:Of course you even said it yourself. Ants are little pests.
Reply:if theres a lot
Reply:Rotten critters. Amdro works well getting rid of all ants. Their burrows create air spaces around roots hastening the demise of the floribunda. A systemic solution for aphids and other bite-your-plant creatures is Dysiston. Nasty chem, but effective. Good luck.
