Is there really a garden at Madisson Square Garden?

Is there really a garden at Madisson Square Garden? In Portland Oregon there's a real rose garden, but it's miles from the arena that they named The Rose Garden. Don't get me started about that one. Is there a real garden in or near Madisson Square?

Is there really a garden at Madisson Square Garden?
Madison Square Garden derives its name from the park where the first two gardens were located (Madison Square) on Madison Avenue at 26th Street. As the venue moved to new locations the name still stuck, although since 1925 Madison Square Garden has been neither a garden nor on Madison Square.
Reply:MSG is a huge complex in midtown, and it isn't even at the original Madison Square. Not a garden in sight, it's all concrete. There is more than just the large stadium--also a smaller venue and exhibition space. Part of it is built over Penn Station.
Reply:About 80 years ago, the original MSG was located on Madison Avenue close to 23rd Street. Afterward it moved to midtown near 50th Street, then to its prsent location on Seventh Avenue and 33rd Street. Today, Madison Square Park is still there starting on 23rd Street between Madison and Sixth Avenues. MSG 80 years ago was known for hosting the circuses.
Reply:There is a park in Madison Square, where Madison Square Garden was originally. A garden is also another name for an arena (ie. Boston Garden and Banknorth Garden)
Reply:No there is no garden in or around MSG..
Reply:yes and no
Reply:NO the old garden was at Madison Avenue then moved down to Penn Station area.

Godo place to watch a game, concert... Appreciated my times there.
Reply:Where exactly is Madisson Square Garden? Madison Square Garden in New York doesn't have any garden as I have ever seen.
Reply:i saw u2 there in 2005 and i can tell you that Madison square garden doesn't have a garden and it isn't square either! i think the place has been rebuilt 3 times so it may well have had a garden in the past but it hasnt now!
Reply:the garden refered to in the name was a roof top beer/wine garden on the first hall built. the present building does not have a roof top garden.
Reply:Its not a botanical garden per say, just an arena for Sports and Attractions

the closes bit of green would be up by the library a short walk from MSG
