The book I never promised you a rose garden?

I read the book I never promised you a rose garden but in the end I'm confused....did she ever get out of the hospital because it says she does but then she goes back.

The book I never promised you a rose garden?
Throughout her story, D is living in a world of her own making. She escapes reality into her other place. When she's hospitalized, she's scared and trapped and feels terribly alone. How frightening that must have been. Then she begins to make some progress, but it's only the beginning. In the end of the book, she gets out of the hospital and realizes that life in it's reality is possible for her and it isn't really as frightening as she thought. She comes to understand that she really is ill and really does need help. She returns to the hospital knowing that eventually she will finally be free from her demons with the professional help from the doctors.
