Rose’s garden is in the shape of a trapezoid. find the length of the other base.?

Rose’s garden is in the shape of a trapezoid. If the height of the trapezoid

is 16 m, one base is 20 m, and the area is 224 m2, find the length of the other base.

Rose’s garden is in the shape of a trapezoid. find the length of the other base.?
Area of a trapezoid = 1/2 Height (Base1 + Base 2)

224 sqm = 1/2 (16)(20 + x)

multiply both sides of the equation by 2 to remove fractions

448 = 16 (20 + x)

448 = 320 + 16x

combine

16x = 128

x = 8 m
