Can you visit the rose gardens in Portland in the winter?

My brother's getting married in Portland this December and I want to know if it'll be worth trying to visit the rose gardens while we're out there. The website says they're open daily, but will there be anything to see? Or should I just tell him to get married next spring?

The Rose Garden is open every day of the year.....it's also free. But nothing will be blooming in December. The view of the city is pretty good from up there (if it's a nice day). For a really good view go to the Pittock Mansion (also in Washington Park), it is even nicer there than the Rose Garden.
Reply:you can go there, but the roses will be dead. December is cold and rainy. I don't know anyone that would get married there at that time.
